Used Mitsubishi Space Runner

Mitsubishi Space Runner

The main problem a lot of MPV people carriers share is that sometimes, they just feel like they are full vans to handle. Even if they are not really vans per se, their size just seems to make you feel like you are handling and driving one. This is a common problem amongst Espace and Galaxy full-size MPVs. The same thing cannot be said about the Mitsubishi Space Runner though. The Space Runner had an 8-year production stint, from 1991 through 1999. At first bat, you would see how the Space Runner looks significantly smaller than its contemporaries in the market. But when you step inside the Space Runner, you would definitely be amazed to see that it easily fits 7 passengers, and very comfortably at that. The great thing about the used Mitsubishi Space Runner is how Mitsubishi incorporated another row of seats, and this was done by raising its roofline so that a more upright seating arrangement could be achieved. Thus, it was easier to squeeze in that extra row of seats. These rearmost seats can also be folded, giving you more boot space to carry whatever load and luggage you have in mind. Do not fret about the folding mechanism because it is actually very easy to fold the seats and get them upright once again. Clever and innovative touches have been added for superior comfort, such as food trays and drink holders. You may find the exterior of the Space Runner quite strange looking, especially when you compare it to the more modern models of today with their sleek lines and suave appearance. Still, the Space Runner remains quite the practical choice. Though production of the Space Runner has halted for many years now, you can still get a decent buy off the secondhand automotive market. Even if the Space Runner just gives you 3-speed automatic transmission, there is still a lot to be impressed about, particularly since it comes with overdrive features. You also get neat handling when dealing with sudden bends on the road, and you can expect decent performance from its 121 bhp 16V 1.8L engine. Getting the optional feature of air conditioning does not really hurt the Space Runner’s fuel consumption at all. Of course, you cannot expect secondhand cars to offer the best in terms of quality. Better check out your prospect’s sliding door mechanism for there have been reported problems regarding this. You also need to make sure to change your timing belts regularly if you do not want further damage to your engine.
